Can we do something to force an idea to reach the tipping point so it catches hold? Why does racism still exist? Will the meme to eradicate racism take hold? Or is the tendency to be attracted to one's clan too great? What about humans warlike behavior? Will that be eradicated by peaceful negotiations and compromise? I think if we don't progress towards peace, we will end up blowing each other up.
